I think this is exactly what I needed for a change. That fragment about sea grass and the womb of the sea was so delicate. I could hear the waves and feel my feet on the sand.

I’m so glad it felt that way for you! I hoped it would resonate as a meditative exploration!

It did! My poetry is so chaotic. Being soothed was the most welcomed treatment.

I really felt nostalgic reading your article

Especially these few last lines

Direction meets extinction.

Worry flees.

Liberated by compassion.

We are seen.

Spaciousness filling emptiness with love.

Thanks for sharing and keep writing šŸ’«

That's really powerful Poem

Hats off to you for Thinking such deep meaning

Just highlighting this part

Fire in the moonlight.

The moon is high;

Locked in time with its aqueous doppelgƤnger.

Bradgamegym's avatar

I've been thinking lately about how the moon affects the waves. And I've been comparing the moon to the things we carry in life such as traumas, successes, nature, nurture, etc. Those things cause a pull like 'waves' in our lives that we don't realize unless we know the 'science' or see the connection behind it. I find it interesting to see a poem written about the moon and the waves when I have been pondering this subject. The moon in your poem touched you through its influence, its gravity pulling the water to touch your toes. And it, like the things we carry, can be 'many, many miles away.' Thank you for sharing :)

ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø I moved to a landlocked state I miss the ocean so so much! I have a 7 day trip coming up in May though!

Nice! Where I live is sort of blah on its own, but thankfully we have lots of very nice places within driving distance.

Andrea (Andy) Curran šŸŒ„'s avatar

I live in the middle of beauty. Just in the mountains so far from the sea. I’ve always been stuck between the two worlds. I do have a lake right outside (for now) and beautiful hiking trails. I just miss the tides so much sometimes!

Words about things and stuff's avatar

Ooh. Where you are sounds great! Mountains and a lake? Nice!

Andrea (Andy) Curran šŸŒ„'s avatar

I’m in Colorado! My apartment has a small reservoir and habitat conservation area so I’m really lucky but we are going to be moving to a house for more space and I’ll have to drive to see a lake again. šŸ˜ž We need more space though.

At least it’ll only be a short drive away. For me it’s usually one to two hours to get someplace interesting. Maybe more depending what we want to see.

I like how you use the sea to create a calmness and spiritual cleansing.

Is that a mirror on the ground?šŸ˜

Andrea (Andy) Curran šŸŒ„'s avatar

Only natures mirror. The lake . It's reflecting the sunset and the mountains.
