Music, like all of the arts, can only be defined by what you want it to be. For you to express yourself is it's top priority. That aside, i loved the rawness of this poem so much!
Ahh that really means so much to hear! <3 It is definitely a difficult piece for me to perform because I feel every bit of it. I wrote this three years ago and I remember viscerally what it felt like when I woke up that morning. That day I couldn’t scream so I wrote this instead.
Thank you so much! Sorry it took so long to get back to this comment! Substacks been getting fresh with my notifications! I always appreciate your comments <3
This is powerful. I love how raw and unapologetic it feels, the shift from the quiet expectation to “sing beautifully” to the decision to scream instead. That thunderstorm image at the beginning sets the tone perfectly.
The lines about refusing to be smaller or more “digestible” really hit. So many people are taught to soften themselves to make others comfortable, and this feels like the opposite of that, reclaiming every part that had to be hidden.
There’s something really freeing about the ending too: gathering all the pieces of yourself and letting them exist loudly, without polishing them for anyone else. It’s intense in the best way.
That's beautiful 😍
Thank you!
beautiful piece!!
Thanks!

You were never too much
Scream my friend. This world is a lot. I'll scream with you
And people that make you reduce who you are aren't worth breaking down for..
💯 with the current state of the world I think a collective scream is in order! 🙀
I felt this deeply! Resonated with each stanza! Absolutely loved this one! Excellent!
Thank you! I❤️
Your journey is built 💪

It's viceral, hard, painful; I can hear your voice cracking at parts.
Here I stand and together we scream - is so powerful!

Beautiful and parts in there that resonated and feel so truthful and real, too.

Thank you!!
Your Poem speaks a thousand pains for sure
Just highlighting this part
I want to scream out my pain from the mountain-top.
Rip these Sharps and flats from deep within my soul.
Expose these secret sounds
to the scrutiny of infinity.
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your feedback!
I felt the force of the thunderstorm coming through and can absolutely relate to the feeling. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you so much <3
"Together, we scream." Indeed. And a lovely poem 🐦⬛
