A Poem
Slow morning.
Cold yellow window glow.
A warm black cat presses nose into neck;
Curling into me. Deep rumbling purrs, echo in the chest.
Down soft fur soft beneath fingers.
Sweet love.
Memories;
When first we met,
You blocked my way.
like an onyx sphinx
I answered your riddles three.
Yes, I will feed you,
Yes, I will love you,
Yes, I will keep you warm.
A pact now complete,
You sit at my feet
Consuming tuna pâté.
